Authorization

Authorization of legal entities for performing legal metrology activities, legal and physical entities for the performance of repair service of measuring instruments.
The General Director of the General Directorate of Metrology, in accordance with Law no. 9875, dated on 14.02.2008 “On metrology”, articles 40-45, and the Order of the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy no. 194, dated on 9.3.2009 “On the approval of the regulation for the authorization of legal entities for performing legal metrology activities and for the authorization of legal and physical entities for performing the repair service of measuring instruments”, may authorize a legal entity that meets the conditions prescribed for the verification of legally controlled metering instruments and metrological expertise when this directorate is not able to carry out these tasks. The General Director of the General Directorate of Metrology may authorize a legal or natural person for the repair service of measuring instruments. The repair service of these instruments is forbidden to be performed by the General Directorate of Metrology or the authorized person for the verification of measuring instruments. The General Director of the General Directorate of Metrology shall decide to grant the authorization within 60 days of the application. The decision for authorization defines the purpose of the authorization and is valid for a period of three years.
The General Directorate of Metrology assigns the verification mark (s) of an authorized person for the legally controlled metering instruments.

The General Director of the General Directorate of Metrology may
revoke the authorization or reduce its term when:

1. The conditions for which the authorization is given and the duties performed in the prescribed manner are not met;
2. The obligations set and the acts issued for its implementation are seriously impaired;
3. Authorization holders have made changes that make it impossible to respect the terms for which authorization was granted.

A legal and natural person whose authorization has been revoked because his unprofessionally behavior and does not comply with provisions of the authorization can not apply for a new authorization within a period of three years from the day the authorization was revoked.

Authorization becomes invalid when:
1. The term of validity expires;
2. The Director General of the General Directorate of Metrology has issued
a decision for the revocation of the authorization;
3. The Authorization give up, in writing, from the authorization.

Obligations of the authorized person:

  1. An authorized legal or natural person shall:
    a) perform its activity professionally and in accordance with the rules for authorization;
    b) immediately notify the General Directorate of Metrology for the termination of the authorization or any change to the terms of the authorization;
    c) keep documentation of various forms for administrative problems related to the purpose of the authorization, in accordance with the rules, unless otherwise provided by this law or with the rules adapted to its implementation;
    d) provide the General Directorate of Metrology with necessary information, within the prescribed time limits and according to the prescribed procedures, for the recording of measuring instruments legally controlled in the respective register.
  2. The General Director of the General Directorate of Metrology describes the deadlines and procedures for providing information on verified measuring instruments.
