International Metrology Day is on 20th May.

Metrology, the science of measurement, is as old as human civilization, it continues to change constantly, it continues to accelerate ahead and continues to be dynamic. It is really interesting to be part of this very dynamic work that we call “Metrology”. The World Metrology Day is the annual celebration of signing the Meter Convention on May 20, 1875 by representatives of seventeen nations. The convention established the framework for world cooperation in the science of measurement and its industrial, commercial and social demands. The original purpose of the Meter Convention – worldwide measurement uniformity – remains as important as it was in 1875.
